Took the dolphin sunset cruising today, hopefully I will get some more evening/night time flying in as the days get shorter. I buzzed my house a couple of times, I always pull up rapidly because well, you get half blind dropping down behind about 1km of houses and trees. I'll add music later, ratcheeroo doesn't like the music, so I need to let him watch it first. I didn't get too far though, on the trip back to my house I noticed I had forgotten to charge my goggles. While I have RTH, flying home blind isn't the greatest feeling. HD is still processing.

Not today but a few days ago (been occupied with a problem sump pump + 5-10 inches of rain in two days = basement woes) My wife was shamed and kicked out of a doctors office for not masking up so we went to the club range to shoot off some steam. Took my mini P51 for a few batteries in a new space and had a ball. Even had a few wifey comments from the peanut gallery ...
wife: "can I fly it?" self: "I'll teach you on the sym - this one's pretty fast" wife: "awe....c'mon. You never let me fly!" self: "You haven't asked to fly in ages - at least let me get another radio next time to buddy-box" wife: "Don't you trust me?" self: "um... no?" wife: laughs...thankfully lol

Last time I did something like that I handed my daughter the P-40. It went down. Got some cool footage this evening. I think this may be the plane I put leds on. HD processing. The runcam thumb does struggle in the evening. I had flown for about 10 minutes before this, I wasn't critically low on battery, I was considering bringing it back and swapping batteries, but I didn't feel like it so I just flew. My osd is a little conservative, I had 3.7v left when I landed. I wanted to fly further into the city.

You have put a lot of thought and time into FPV and video and it really shows! )+1 on the Satriani BTW )

Mid 60s and almost no wind, bright sunshine. A perfect flying day and finished work early, it doesn't get much better. Flew: LongEZ - it had been awhile and I'd forgotten how twitchy it is, the roll rate is too fast for me Spitfire - Got up 4 mistakes high and tried some inverted flight semi-successfully Staggerwing - Still getting used to it but a pleasure to fly. Loops, rolls, snap rolls and slows down nicely with full flaps. (no phone poles)

I always just blanketly assume the P-40 flies exactly the same as the spitfire because they have pretty much the exact same design, but I had the same experience. It took about 50 percent forward stick and a lot of fighting with the ailerons to keep my p-40 inverted. It kept wanting to nose back under and auto level due to the dihedral. The things that make it nearly fly like a trainer don't exactly translate well to good inverted flight. I still need to finish getting the staggerwing together. I am not putting flaps on mine, I just didn't think it would need them. I could always add them I suppose if I felt the need. I rarely use flaps on the planes I have them on.

Yeah, you really don't need them. I put them on because, well, why not? They have less effect than the flaps on my explorer or the flaperons on the scout. It does slow down but doesn't pitch up like the other two.
