Numerically Controlled Turret. It's a 1970's era turret punch press for punching holes in sheet metal. Long boring story about why I adopted it.

Successful maiden of the mig today. Put both packs through it. Flew like a champ.

Finally got my hatcam half way squared away.
Here is a second video, I botched the landing since I was tail heavy this flight, but I probably got better shots of the plane in flight. HD is processing.

Headed over to a friends place to drop off a power supply for his 3D printer and took my mini P51 along. Got some flight time in with a friend (in the wind) and was reminded of why I'm not a huge fan of the FT MS Corsair. He took up his Corsair in the wind (I landed to give him some space) for his maiden flight. It was a bit rough in the wind but he was handling it OK. Afterwards he did note that he should have checked the CG... The statement here it that he landed not quite so nicely. While it was a bit harsh, it wasn;t a horrendous nose-first crash. It came away broken in half, half crushed in on the front, in short, it's gonna be a bit of a rebuild To give him some fun back I let him take up the mini P51 which he had a blast with. This reminded me of my maiden flight in my Corsair, with a very minor missed landing which ripped the cowl clean off in front of the wing.
So the MS series, while they look cool (although the Corsair resembles the prototype) they aren't the best at rough-meets-ground. They are light and fly well enough, just for a still-newbie who makes mistakes often enough they don't hold up as well as having a solid core like 13th Squadron stuff (or the way I've been designing them). Rant done I guess. I just feel bad for my friend (and his plane) lol

I never felt inclined to build that one, always been more of a hellcat fan, as evidenced by the fact I have one lol. I've built a couple of overstreet planes and he does a few things that don't make any sense, I built both the MS zero and Jacks zero and Jacks flew way better. I also hate the way overstreet went after Jack, basically introducing planes right after Jack did, I know he did that on a few. I thought several times about building his MS mustang, but I haven't for that reason. I do want to build a rocketship warbird though. Glad the mini mustang flew well. It sucks when you crash a molded one that took you a while. I hope it wasn't a speed build kit.

It was fun and he enjoyed the mini mustang so much we are gonna build two of them together in a few weeks. Jack's stuff is nice (love the hellcat and his FW190) - I need to get around to building his P61. I guess then with Jack and OSs history maybe it's funny that I uploaded by BF109 right before FF21 and two of mine (well, mine and someone that built one from my plans ) flew next to one of his and held up just fine (mine actually looked better too!) LOL I should try Jack's Zero - I really enjoy LocalFiends tho! On one other side note - someone last year wanted me to do a P51B after FF for the same reason that you won't build the current one. Perhaps I should resurrect that thought...

Yeah I was pretty disappointed with how badly damaged mine got when I tried to maiden it, wasn't worth trying to repair. All those joints on those MS planes are potential weak spots IMO. The Hellcat is an excellent candidate for a one piece fuse build tho. I have it worked out in my mind, just have to translate it to foamboard LMAO!

I don't mention it a ton, but my hellcat has had several rough landings and it looks great.

I had the 125” extra out yesterday 🤘 If I paypal you the money to buy a guinea pig, will you do 3D stuff with it in the cockpit. I will also slide you another 10 bucks to clean up the turds. I don't know what to tell you to do with it if it survives though. I love that plane, one day when I get a place where I have a massive storage building, it will have room for one of those, and about 6 cars. I love that plane.

I really like this plane, it is speedy and easy to fly. Left the memory card out of the FPV goggles by accident. I got about two thirds of a flyby. Trying to fly with one hand and record with the other... well not easy. I wasn't even sure I had got it until I watched it in the car, lol.
