Sounds like a good day. I always just blanketly assume the P-40 flies exactly the same as the spitfire because they have pretty much the exact same design, but I had the same experience. It took about 50 percent forward stick and a lot of fighting with the ailerons to keep my p-40 inverted. It kept wanting to nose back under and auto level due to the dihedral. The things that make it nearly fly like a trainer don't exactly translate well to good inverted flight. I still need to finish getting the staggerwing together. I am not putting flaps on mine, I just didn't think it would need them. I could always add them I suppose if I felt the need. I rarely use flaps on the planes I have them on. Yeah, you really don't need them. I put them on because, well, why not? They have less effect than the flaps on my explorer or the flaperons on the scout. It does slow down but doesn't pitch up like the other two. Full flaps in the ranger is a hard pitch up. If I use them to land I typically only use them at 50 percent. But on takeoff.... they are golden. The takeoff roll is about 5 feet. Which reminds me, I need a new front landing gear for it.

Got to fly my mini series I’ve put together. I built the FT Flyer at 85% and the mini power pod fit perfectly inside the swappable power pod so I just glued the swappable to the fusealage and plugged in the mini pod with an 1806 motor. It flies amazing. It was so easy to build I made the Nutball and Delta at 85%. They have been a great way to keep my thumbs active and fly in my front yard. The Mini Nutball is hilarious and will turn on a dime. Best three dollars spent this week!

I have been thinking of designing a simple mini plane. Maybe I should.

I like how the Flyer can fly like a planes I’m used to even though it’s a three channel. It has some great characteristics. Overall best flyer. The Nutball though is a close second now that I’ve learned to handle it. For the most laughs It wins hands down. The Delta so far is meh. It flies but seems to tip stall extremely easily. I added some canards which helped but I’ve only flown it once so not so sure yet. I would reccomend the Mini Flyer to anyone as a parking lot or yard plane for flying right in front of you. It handles amazing with good CG, and takes a beating.

Such a nice day. I've flown the scout, both Staggerwings (mine & store bought) twice each. I robbed my last spektrum receiver from the LongEZ to put in the SB Staggerwing so I put in an Aura. The LongEZ is twitchy at speed and the Aura made it almost smooth. It's the first time I've flown at full throttle and it screams. Should have done it sooner.

Not sure why. Glad you had a day of success. I watched one of your videos on youtube just now.

Wish I could zoom in tighter so it's not just a boring little dot flying around. I've got the runcam at it's narrowest field of view and then use 'pan & zoom' on the video editor. I guess I could fly closer & tighter but that leads to crashed & smashed.

I find the best thing to do is "racetrack laps" and bring the plane in like you are on a landing approach, pass by about 10-20 feet off the ground right in front of you, that is if you just want proof of flight/whatever maneuvers are right in your view captured. Beyond that, you need a cameraman or a chase plane/quad. You have to keep in mind, a lot of the big youtubers have a collaborative effort, and at least have someone else on a camera, to a full on production/filming team like FT or some of the others have.

It was too windy to maiden the staggerwing today. But this plane is still my favorite.

Took my scout out yesterday in 20mph with gusts. Didn't have much fun and was happy to get down in one piece. This morning I was able to fly the spit, staggerwing (mine) and as the wind was picking up zoomed the LongEZ around. Good morning!

Awesome, I tried to embed it, but it looks like it won't let me. One day I'll be there. I tried some different video editing. This is 2 flights pieced together. I don't know what is better between the highlights, the fast forward, or the fade, I kind of like the fade more so than the fast forward. I have seen both done. I kind of think if it is a short period between points on the same flight, maybe fast forward, or if it is a longer period, and obviously between different flights, do the fade. I almost saw shamu here. I flew to sea world. My video editor only lets me export 1080p.
