Hey Guy's IM so happy to find you guys here! Its your builds and encouragement over the past year that has made the hobby for me. I have been out maddening some of the planes I build over the winter I managed hitting a tree with the FT arrow!

I finally got to start repairs on my P36. I cut out the damage wing skin back to the spar - found out that I doinked the spar a bit too, but not enough to worry about (this still has just a bit of wood to tie both spar halves together, not the full wood spar in the plans). I then took the repair FB and placed it on the gap and traced each part from the inside. I left about a 1/4" of paper on the face of the FB and used Burkeomatic method of thick and quick wood glue and an iron to dry it quick so the paper didn;t wrinkle...
I also squeezed some wood glue into the cracked tail (I still have NO IDEA how that cracked with no other damage to the tail) and taped it overnight.
I don;t think I'm going to worry about the wrinkles and creases that were a result of the crash... A new prop and a surfaces test this evening with some lacquer and paint to go.

That'll do it! it would be a huge hassle to get those creases taken care of, it would involve refinishing the entire wing. if anything, you could just glue some more paper over it, and that would 90% cover it up.

Soldered up this FC and stuff for the night fury. I know I have one installed with it, but this is a nice camera vtx set up too. 1200tvl camera (about as good as it gets for analog) and a 1 watt VTX. I also worked on the p36. 2022-06-16_11-09-47 by Burkeomatic, on Flickr

I ported the dxfs over from Fusion 360, printed the plans and got this far in about 5 hours. I'm liking Fusion 360! [/url]

Not sure of your wrapping method, but I glued that rear skin (the mislabeled one... what should be Skin E) at the bottom and squeezed it up onto the formers. Thats also where the K and "L1 former supports" came into play.

I haven't even glued in K yet, I was going to bend that other one forward. I don't know why former H is tilted back like that. I am going to put those supports in before I put that skin on. I need to get the templates to trace where I need to do those canopy cut outs. They're somewhere in that folder.

Leave it glued in place for a day or two before you cut them out. Do you get a clean fit gluing a little at a time? You'll need to let me know how the bottom seam works out gluing it like that - I may switch to that style now that you've got me moving away from hot glue

But it works. I did get a clean fit. Hot glue would have worked better I think. I forget how I did the F6F it has been so long. I am trying to get this stupid camera/vtx combo working and it is driving me up the wall, hopefully I will get E cut out tonight. That is all I was going to do, is mark the cut outs and cut them after it is good n dry.

Thanks! It's amazing what you can do with a free CAD program and the University of YouTube. I can't believe how powerful and easy to use Fusion 360 is. I've used for TurboCad most of my designs but it's just going to be for laying out plans now.

I have been getting handy with inkscape to produce plans. I have done zero RC related today. But I did install this. It was somewhat of a pain since I had to keep going back to the store to get odd fittings. I think the dishwasher that was there was installed when my house was built. It was 3/8" pex from the dishwasher all the way into the wall. "Hardwired' if you will. 1/2" is standard, and they barely make fittings for 3/8" so I had to cobble together about 3 adaptors but we got it in. Finally all of the appliances in my kitchen match! I went a little over my $1000 per month "discretionary spending" budget. I spent $700 on a dishwasher and $425 in a gun. Can't buy plane stuff for a while lol. 2022-06-18_10-44-00 by Burkeomatic, on Flickr
