LOL, I was careful about the angle of the pics. It's an okay 10 foot paint job.

As long as it looks great in the air is all that matters!

Alright! V2.1 built & maidened. Found out two things - first it needs down and right thrust adjustment, second my low rates were too low. Other than that a very gentle flier. The landing was full flaps and motor off. I ran half throttle for 5 minutes and had 74% battery left.
Specs:
Wing Span 36"
Length 31"
AUW 785 grams (without paint or landing gear)
Motor 2218 1180kva
Prop 10 x 4.5
Battery 2300 3s
Sorry for a dull small speck flying in circles video. The launch is exciting and the landing uneventful.

FYI, I gave it 1° down and right on the second flight. Still needs more down, I'm guessing 2 or 3. Looking at side views of the real plane they have visible down thrust. Did you DL the V2.1 plans?

Did you need to add nose weight? Just wondering with the placement of the rudder and elevator servos. Or did the 3D printed cowl compensate? (likely makin' it onto my short-term build list)

No nose weight, in fact the battery is about an inch back from the firewall. The cowl doesn't appreciably affect the balance. On my second one with landing gear the battery was a little further back. BTW, CG is about 1/4" behind the leading edge of the upper wing per glide tests.

Staggerwing V2.0 is done. Changes from V1.0: Less elevator area, mounted rear servos more flush to fuselage, added fixed gear and flaps on the lower wing. This one's painted with thinned latex samples from Home Depot. It works great as long as you THOROUGHLY wipe excess poly from the foam board. If you don't do a good job you get checking and orange peel like you see on the top wing. AUW with "C" power pack size motor and 2200 3s battery is 858g, 31" long, 36" wing span. That looks awesome. I really like the paint job too. Well done sir.

Just learned a valuable lesson in painting with bigbox sample size paint. I thinned the first color with water - went on nice and smooth. After sitting a week I masked and sprayed the second color also thinned with water. Bad news, orange pealed like crazy. Was able to wipe it off and then sand with 600 grit. Tried again but this time thinned with rubbing alcohol - perfect and ready to respray in minutes. Not sure if it was the length between first and second coats or the water used to thin with.

If your talking acrylic paint I only thin with isopropyl alcohol. I find water is hit or miss my last project the FT spitfire I used the shaker can paint Juan over the road says to use after minwax clear polyurethane and I was very pleased with how it turned out. The first time I tried to use acrylic the paper started to bubble and peel because I hadn't used minwax poly first.

I end up always using the polyurethane on white foam. the brown doesnt need it, although i prefer the white with poly (I use the oil based one...)

I'm using the $4 sample size paints from Lowes so it's water based latex. I've still got some FT brown FB left but I'm using it for prototypes and planes that I'm just going to use colored packing tape on. I've only had success painting it with rattle cans. I'm much happier with the white board coated with minwax poly. I can't seem to find the right balance on scuffing up the brown - either not enough for the paint to stick or too much and fuzzy. Staggerwing 3 is almost ready. Wife says I need to do some trim on the tail too.

After I am done with Bwarz plane, I think I will build yours, I haven't built one of your designs yet.
