I actually am starting with the wing and canard first so I will post pics later today showing how they go together. Easier to show you than try to explain it. By doing those first I will be able to translate their shape to the fuse so that they should fit snug where they locate. Be prepared for a lot of pictures LOL, going to document right from tracing the pattern to the foamboard.

Just a quick question and I may be way ahead of myself watching your build.... How are you going to incorporate the buffalo plaid pattern of your slippers in the Quickie? Just askin'

Just askin' I have seen those in one of his videos though. I bet it is cold up there already. I forget other places have seasons other than summer. It was 95 degrees today.

Haven't figured out how I want to do canard tips yet but canard is together. On to the wing, basically the same process only with dihedral this time Absolutely awesome

Up early this morning, figured I would get the wing done before the weekly Costco/shopping run. Then I'll have the rest of the day to knock out the fuse. Probably have time to knock off the V-stab before we go, giving it an airfoil shape. Should be a good day.

It was a good day. This plane is long LOL! Wing and canard are spot on and fit is good. V-stab worked out really nice, don't know why I don't do that more often. The curve on the bottom of the fuse really makes it difficult to round it out so I will probably glue in the bottom plate with wood glue and round off the edge by sanding it. Going to glue the trailing edge of the wing together with GG and call it a day. r

Wow, thanks for exposing me to Burt Rutan! I never knew. I had always assumed the FT Long EZE was just a name they had come up with. I looked up Rutan’s designs. Mind blown. I am excited to see how this works out for you. Great build!

Feel free to jump in and design something.

Looking over some of Rutan’s design definitely got me thinking about design. I was really liking the looks of the VariViggen.
