Well today I got a phone call from My Brother In-Law the FT spear that was lost about 6 weeks ago has been found and returned I can't wait my sister says its fully intact. I will check it over and see how the internal electronics have faired a few thunder storms. If the video is still intact on the SD card I will post it here for all to see. The property owner 3 properties over spotted it in a tall shrub and got it down and returned it to my sister as most of the people have seen me flying out there. I hope most of the electronics are good the battery I assume will be shot and all puffed up but once it went dead the receiver and servos and Gyro should hopefully be good. We will see. This is really strange 3 days ago I was on YouTube and watch a video of a guy flying an FT Spear with a GPS flight control on a 3 mile long GPS waypoint mission it was really cool he had an action camera and two run-cam type cameras on it facing front and back and he flew the mission FPV from his headset. Im going to buy a bunch of cheap sonic locator buzzers and equip all my planes with one just in case.

Ok guys my brother in law dropped off the FT Spear when he came by to pick up my car for a brake Job. I was totally amazed that the video on the Action Cam was completely Intact. The Mishap was caused buy the push rod guides for the elevons coming out of the wing on take off the plane was in a fight for the gyro keeping it level and one elevon stuck i n a turn after I made my first maneuver. as soon as I realized I had no Directional control I cut the throttle and let her go in. As you can see in the video the Spear flew over a tree and then threaded itself between some saplings next to a neighbors picnic table in some tall grass were it sat for 10 weeks. Surprisingly most to the electronics survived . The Motor and ESC seem fine and the receiver and Gyro seem to be working. The servos not so much but hell they are cheap and expendable. The Air frame well its toast It was finished with Packing Tape and it didn't stand up to the rain we had over the summer. all the unwater proofed paper delaminated. So I'm going to build a new one and poly and paint it. video youtu.be/kBx_FGsRqMY

It just kind of landed gracefully in someones front yard. I am surprised it took 10 weeks to find it, but hey, pretty cool. I'm glad you got it back.

Nice gentle crash and good video. He joined your club, he needs to stick it back together with paper clips and chewing gum like you did. If I can only find that Kadet ratcheerroo designed I lost a year ago we can start a club.
