Admittedly this is more of a concept at the moment, since I've done nothing to refine the current design... Thought it might be worthy of a sneak peek, nonetheless.
Ironically, the whole premise was to have something to use the tiny fans I snagged not too long ago... Since I had nothing to mount them on. I designed an exhaust duct, and re-realized... Still nothing to use them on.. :/
So, that changed as well. The name may change somewhere along the way. Nothing is permanent, to speak of. These are 30mm fans, for reference.
The aim is to keep the airframe as sleek as possible, without sacrificing structural strength too much. The lifting body is only 1.75" thick at its peak, currently. She spans 16" in her current state, though I may stretch it to 18" if the need arises. I'm also taking a lazy approach to the wing this time. It's completely flat. I did this for two reasons: build speed, simply because it's borderline impossible to cut an airfoil with that large of a chord difference freehand, with that much sweep. And, drag. I'm aiming to minimize drag where ever possible.
I'm really going cheap this time. Using 6mm foam sheet for the wing, and some of my two decade old 3mm depron for the verticals. The target weight is 3oz,wet. Going to attempt to jam a 2 cell 1ah pack under the hood. That should let me stretch close to 10 minutes of runtime. The pack puts me at roughly 2oz, before anything else is even factored. Should be interesting to squeeze everything else into the last 33%.

Nah, it won't be necessary. Should be durable enough as is.
Going to keep it as sleek as possible... Need to squeeze as much as possible out of this poor little fan. xD
Anyways, she's looking good. Opted for my usual hinged hatch. That will come later.
And, yes... I'm aware that I shot my weight limit by a bit. 5oz is a good target, too. xD I can guarantee I'll stay below that though. I'm still ridiculously well within the performance range i'm seeking... It's just nice to have things as light as possible in the process.
