I guess this technically isn't a true build... Though I did stick the stab and wing halves together. I'm using this as filler until I can recover enough to continue on the secret deal I've got planned for the x-plane competition.
Running momentarily off tangent here, I never thought I'd be designing a craft that required a gearbox for something other than the drivetrain. That being said, Back to my initial nonsense.
I'm not one for prefab models, but there's just something about that specific aircraft, that I was willing to go prefab to get one. >_> Despite the terrible engine vibration issues that arose earlier in development, the ME-262 was the first jet to see aerial combat. This was preceded only by the HE-178, as the first jet to leave the ground only a few years earlier.
it spans 59" for reference. I tend to use my 12" floor tiles as a reference measurement, for those unfamiliar. This gives a better sense of scale. This thing should be somewhere around 7.5lb, finished. Seems quite chunky for what little wing area there is. Another nifty little detail... The fans are counter-rotating. I wasn't expecting that.
I'll eventually get it off the ground, but for now... It's together.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Very very nice plane, I am envious LOL!! Scratching my head on the X-Plane build, my interest is piqued! Congrats on your purchase, can't wait to see some flight footage!

I am glad you posted this up in here. You make me want to buy a ''nice'' plane that I didn't randomly find in the classifieds, like I normally do.
