I don't think it will be too hard if you treat the top part, like the canopy as a separate part from the bottom. I've always been conficted on how I feel about the geebees. On one hand, I appreciate they are pretty much an engine with wings. On the other hand, they look like a soda can.

I would probably do something on the top or the bottom where it kind of slides down and forward. That makes me think CG on this might be interesting.

I got a thought last night. Look at the 13th squadron f6f and see how that battery is done. There is a hatch below the wing that comes off, and the battery slides up and forward into the cowl.

I've gotten way ahead of myself with the build. Wanted to see if my idea would translate to fb. Pretty rough but it glides ok. 40" wingspan, 31" long and 238g as it sits with no electronics. Don't know if I'll hack this one to put servo in or build a second one.

I would probably hack that one, I think you could do it pretty cleanly. I like how you did that tail section, clean looking. You are picking up that CAD stuff pretty good, nice work!! Wing looks awesome!

If you are careful, hacking something will end up better than you think, have a sharp blade, mark out what you want to cut with tape. If you eyeball it, I assure you that you will regret it.

It didn't take too long to hack the plane up and install the electronics. It took 2 1/2 stir straws for the elevator and rudder push rod guides but by having the servos forward I didn't have to add nose weight for balance. AUW with a 2300 3s battery is 631g. Once the cowl is printed I may even have to move the battery back some. Now if the wind would get below 10mph I can maiden it.

This morning at sun up looked like it would be the least wind and rain that we would have for a while so I thought why not ruin the rest of my day by crashing the QED. I figured I had about a 25% chance of things going well. Place your bets now before watching the video.

Thanks and thanks for the advise on how to hack this one up to fly. I'm excited to build the next one straight & see how it goes.
