Well I got the wiring done in the wing and installed the ESCs and the aileron servos and tested the motor setup. " HOLY CRAP!!! the trust at full throttle is crazy I only have some 3000Mah 3S Batteries and on 11.1 volts the wing just about rips out of my hand it will be insane on 4S. The bird is turning out very light so far so I have a feeling this thing is going to go like stink! when I tested at full throttle it blew just about everything off the building table that didn't have any weight. View AttachmentGotta love the sheer thrust. When I let the jet spool up all the way, it blows everything on one side of my garage.

well got The ailerons and winglets on she is getting close to having construction complete and moving into the finishing stage. I got curious and place her on the scale just to see what I was looking at weight wise and she comes out. Less a small piece of foam board some pushrods and paint at 945 grams or 2 lbs so I'm right on Target. I have to fabricate a special pushrod for the split elevator and hook up the rudder then I can close up the back end and start finishing and painting. Here is how she looks now! I check the CofG as she sits she is slightly nose down on the spar so I have a good feeling!

IM going to scan my templates and combine them with the wing templates that Ratcheroo has drawn and pack it with The RCM plans and email them to Burko so he can place them in the plans vault. so if any of the folks on the forum want to build one of these they can!

Well I had one of life's most embarrassing moments last night I just received the BYME-A gyro last weekend and had planned on putting it in The Shrike Commander but when I check out how to install the dam thing turns out you need access to Channel 7 for switching mode settings. I needed to swop out the 10 channel receiver from my FT Simple Cub for a 6 channel. The cub has a gyro as well but its a TL-70 and only uses channels 1 to 5 and PWM signal so a 6 channel is more then adequate. so after swopping in the Flysky FS-iA6B 6Ch I was cloning the settings dual rates and expos etc. I accidentally touched the throttle and the Cub Rolled forward on the table and cut part of the shrikes tail off need less to say I had to do surgery and transplant a new tail on the shrike. I learned two valuable Lessons 1. No more then one plane on the table at a time. 2. Fallow Bixlers Law if your going to work on a plane Take the dam Prop Off.

I haven't used the byme A for that reason. All my rx are either 6ch or crsf. I wonder if the FS IA6B can pass through more channels through SBUS.

Yes that is a good question or maybe radiolink could just move that switch to channel 6. I get the Impression that they have centered the BYME gyros around There own equipment which is understandable. I personally like the FlySky fsia6b it's a great little receiver I have a few different FlySky RX and I like the 6b and the 10b.

Yeah, even since I switched to radiomaster/elrs, I still use my flysky receivers on closer range stuff. They work just fine, actually a little better since the radiomaster has better range than the FSi6 radio.

Well construction is now done on the Shrike I finished the old fashion pushrod for the elevator . I fabricated an old style Y shaped pushrod for the split elevator and hooked up the rudder and closed in the tail. I started wood gluing The edges and made some sanding blocks so I can clean everything up. Im getting close . Im in the finishing stage now and have most of the electronics hooked up as well. I just need to sand off the rough edges and hit the air frame with min wax polyurethane and then paint. I might be able to get her done and in the air before it snows. keeping my fingers cross!

Thanks I'm actually tickled with how well this Frankenstein pushrod works and it's totally adjustable.
