Stumbled across this when looking for more stuff on the Vultee XP54 / XP68. It's another WW2 radial engined airplane! The profile kinda reminds me a bit of the Corsair...
...and the wiki page... >>here
As if I don;t have enough things planned - I gotta stop....

As if I don;t have enough things planned - I gotta stop.... Lol, I know the feeling, I actually have several plans in various states of completion, not even in prototype phase yet. You really need to build a plane 2-3 times before you get a solid set of plans too. I didn't know about this one, but I had been eyeing the P43 lancer for a while, they kind of look the same. Were you thinking of a hellcat and not corsair, or maybe you weren't. Anywho, I was also mulling over a Seversky P35, which the lancer was slightly based on. I kind of get brewster buffalo vibes from the P43.

The Buffalo almost looks comic though with how short the fuselage is (I had thoughts before of building a Buffalo)! The P66 profile, esp the vstab just struck me as Corsair-ish. So many planes, so little time, right???

So many planes, so little time, right??? Ok I see what you see now. I am not sure which plane I want to move on yet, honestly. I have a couple of weirdo designs I think I want to try out too. I actually spent about an hour figuring out which 3D printed plane I wanted to start next, then realized I have a cub I still haven't finished. I think the P66 would be a good one though. It kind of has that neat diesel punk vibe to it, and once you got the design, you could probably build a ''modded'' one that could be super neat.

Started tinkering with plans as I was bored last night and both work benches were occupied by my two older kids' stuff. Straightforward mostly with easy curves for the fuselage. The wing looks to be compound dihedral though, which I guess will make the design a wee bit more interesting. Hmm, if I get the plans worked out this weekend maybe I can start building ---another--- airplane... (I should have done the XP54/XP68 first but you gotta go where the squirrels run...)
