So, I bought these tindling 50c 2200 mah 4S batteries to use on my jets. Trouble is, I am a victim of what I now find to be overrated C ratings. Theoretically, these batteries should be able to handle over 100a discharge. Well my two EDFs in my mig could not possibly do more than 80a without blowing an ESC. I hardly ever flew it at full throttle. Yet after my first pack when I landed, the battery was probably 120 degrees (I could hold it, but it was hot to the touch) and decently puffy. So, long story short, I will need to be getting new batteries for my mig! The thread is here, turns out this is a thing. Stay woke! Yeah, I’ve heard some bad things about those.
If you’re looking for cheap batts, the Liperior brand from r batteries.com are pretty Damn good. Been running mine for over a year with no puffing.

Been running mine for over a year with no puffing. #sendmoney Thanks! I heard good things about RDQ batteries too. But I am always looking for cheap ones. Of course, I could always start a fundraiser.... Never had any problems with my prop planes, but I guess when the EDFs tax the heck out of them. Also someone told me to put my low voltage alarm at 3.7 instead of 3.5. Another one of those things you never can get a straight answer on. Opinions vary wildly. So I could have over discharged it too. |
