Just purchased my first "Real "plane LOL. Should be here early next week. Think it will be a good little plane to kick around and be able to get a little taste of some 3D stuff so pretty excited. Got lots of flying to get in before it gets here so I should be ready for it. Woo hOO!

looks fun! I am waiting for the motor and servos for the JTA to get here before I press forward with it, maybe we can learn 3D together. I have been watching this guy, seems like he knows a thing or two. Sometimes when I fly my "real planes" I wonder why I mess with DTFB, but then I remember I like having unique stuff no one has. I have the only DTFB twin EDF mig 29 that I can find (a google search only shows mine) and the sweet soariness of the night fury. But they are a great fall back if you have a frustrating day and 3 of your designs lawndart.

yeah I have seen this guy, will have to watch it some more now, hit the subscribe and go through the episodes for sure. I started practicing with my P-40 which was the plane I was the most comfortable doing aerobatics with. I cranked the throws up really high and started doing wacky stuff with it. I never did have enough aileron, but I could do harriers with it and hover it for the most part once I installed the larger motor on it. The dihedral and airfoil kept it from flying very well inverted, although I did quite frequently. That was when I decided I needed a 3D plane, built a profile foamy which I promptly crashed and a FT3D I never put electronics in, and it is just deserted somewhere in the corner of my garage, although it was a really clean build. So finally Oliver and Quinn posted enough cool videos that I ended up sucking it up and buying a JTA.

Almost bought a Staggerwing then decided I build one myself and that hasn't happened. I may have to go see if it's still there.

Get on RC groups and search the classifieds, you can adjust to order results closest or farthest away. I know I am in a city, but there are always sweet deals on there for used airframes. I picked up the FMS Ranger and axn floater jet for $125. There was a dynam A10 for $100. Cheaper than building a twin EDF foamie. I think I am right there on the mig, more if you count all of the planes i crashed trying to get it right. There is a dude in houston that has some awesome deals, like a P-47 and T-28 on sale for $120 for both. But then, my car gets 28mpg running 85-90mph so that results in about $100 in fuel and 4 hours of driving lol.

So the Saber arrived last Thursday, just in time for the long weekend. Yea it arrived with no glue (apparently they don't ship that to NA with glue) and it was missing the wing tip vortex generators as well. Great Hobbies is sending the wing tip things and a free bottle of glue so all I have bee able to do is apply the decals and install the prop. Decals are really bad, I had to cut new ones for about half the plane LOL , and I work with vinyl !@!@!!##$ Here is how she looks so far, still have the bottom decals to apply.

Ready to go! Wing tip things and glue arrived Friday. Not a lot of real estate there for battery and receiver and ESC but got it all sorted out. Going with a 3s 1500 for the battery. Have you flown this yet. Looks like the smaller flysky rx might be a better fit. Those ia6bs are big, but I use them when I need sbus and no long range.
