Skymaster with twin "C" pack motors. Still flies like a dream. I still haven't built one of these, and it looks like it would be a blast. Yall kind of have me wanting to build another FT plane. Which one should I build I am thinking of revisiting the Alpha in some form, Made that one two times, four if you count the 2 I made for my buddies, and I just couldn't get it to go and it bothered me LOL. I have seen some videos (The Nerdologist) on Youtube where he has taken the Alpha platform and built a few different fighter jet inspired planes that seem to go really well. Think he has the right approach to that plane.

Here's the first flight with it painted. I started with way too much up trim and a little high on the throttle and it almost ended before it started.

The Skymaster is modified from TimmyP's plans on "the forum which will remain nameless". You like speed and that is not this plane, it's more majestic. If you want a quick build and a speedy plane try my 125% LongEZ. I can email you either set of plans.

Looked sweet, wind is down today here so hopefully get to do a few maidens Wind was only 5mph here. The soybeans are almost too big to land in now and the corn south of me is already over my head. I'm going to have to start driving to find a place to fly for awhile.

Well Mr NCT you got me to have the guts to maiden My FT Spitfire and WOW what a bird these things fly Great just like a real SPITFIRE! I have attached a link to the video My Brother Inlaw took for me please for give me for the video quality its only 1080P and out of focus allot of the time but you can see it flies and well it does it got off to a squarely start but it settled down very quickly and tracked through the air very smartly. I put an oversized motor on it at burkeomatics suggestion and man he wasn't wrong it had plenty of vertical climb and was very smartly maneuverable. Have a look at the video. youtu.be/TyiBb3Kq_DoTivolii DXW D3536 1200KV 2-4S Brushless Motor for RC FPV Fixed Wing Airplane Aircraft. this is the motor I have installed with a 10x6 prop and a 2.5 inche spinner.

What a great maiden flight, congrats!! The plane looks fantastic. It's always hard to fly it the first time when it looks that good. BTW, if you want to embed a video in your post click on the BBCode tab and insert the link in this format: {video src="https://youtu.be/TyiBb3Kq_Do"}{/video} but use the [ brackets instead of the { brackets

Yeah, that's why I started this thread. On the other forum everyone raved about the Spit and mentally I always went "yeah, yeah, yeah...." But, I guess, sometimes "everybody" can be close to right. I think the reason I was so skeptical was because it was always the same "everybodys" who bashed the MM DR1 when I loved how it flies.

I think the reason I was so skeptical was because it was always the same "everybodys" who bashed the MM DR1 when I loved how it flies. I had always felt that it was probably good. I think all of the FT warbirds kind of follow the same formula which just ''works'' for whatever reason. I ended up with the P40 but I bet they are pretty well the same. I may end up building that one next. They are just the right amount of sporty without being too overbearing, and are probably the best first aileron plane I can think of. You can really crank the throw up if you want to, and you can upgrade the motor in them and make them scoot too. Honestly, I think they fly better than the ranger. On the flipside, you know I like making planes everyone hates good, and for some reason, lots of planes people like don't work for me. It takes everything I have not to chunk my ZOHD dart in the trash.
